The Project aims to lay the groundwork for the creation of the Urban Archaeological Park of the
City of Naples by defining its initial location at the archaeological site of Piazza Municipio.
The Project constitutes the redefinition of the PON03PE_00164 named RIPA on the basis of
the need to give it full and adequate correspondence with the indications defined in the RIS3 of the
Campania Region and to identify a precise and well-focused demonstrator objective of the
actual capabilities of the technological platform developed by the DATABENC District.
From a conceptual point of view, PARCO ARCHEOLOGICO URBANO DI NAPOLI is based
on the assumption that without knowledge there is no lasting enhancement and without protection there is no
heritage to pass on to future generations.
One of the main objectives is, therefore, to meet the need for information and services related to
cultural heritage through ways that foster innovation in systems of protection and
enhancement. In this sense, each of the project objectives intends to give rise to an interaction of
skills and knowledge, realizing a synergistic solution to different needs of the
cultural sector of the Campania Region.
